Following the conclusion of the 2024 Six Nations, we ranked all the players who took part in the Championship. Next up, Scotland had a mixed campaign, experiencing the highs of the Calcutta Cup win and the lows of defeats to Italy and Ireland. We evaluated each player, assigning them ratings out of 10.
In the backline, Duhan van der Merwe was outstanding with a hat-trick against England, earning him a rating of 8. Kyle Steyn and Blair Kinghorn also impressed with ratings of 6 and 7 respectively. Huw Jones shone in the centres, achieving a rating of 8, while Stafford McDowall and Sione Tuipulotu scored a 6 each.
Unfortunately, Cameron Redpath's limited playing time hindered his rating at 6.
Finn Russell excelled at fly-half with a rating of 7, while Ben Healy's solid performance earned him a 5. Among the scrum-halves, Ben White stood out with a 7 rating, while George Horne and Ali Price received ratings of 6 and 5 respectively.
The back-row was led by Andy Christie with a rating of 7, followed by Jack Dempsey and Rory Darge both with a rating of 6. Jamie Ritchie scored a 5, while Matt Fagerson and Luke Crosbie were unable to make a significant impact due to injuries.
In the second-row, Scott Cummings and Grant Gilchrist earned ratings of 6 each, while Sam Skinner scored a 5. Props Zander Fagerson, Pierre Schoeman, and Elliot Millar-Mills all received ratings of 6, with Rory Sutherland and Alec Hepburn scoring 5 each. Among the hookers, George Turner impressed with a rating of 6, while Ewan Ashman achieved a solid 5 as a back-up.
