Nigel Walker, the executive director of rugby at the Welsh Rugby Union, has acknowledged that more effort could have been made to persuade Immanuel Feyi-Waboso to choose Wales over England. The 21-year-old, originally from Cardiff, had moved to England after being unable to secure a spot at Cardiff University. Despite flourishing at Exeter Chiefs and being courted by both England and Wales, it was England that ultimately won Feyi-Waboso's allegiance. Walker expressed regret over missed opportunities in recruiting the talented player and emphasized the need to prevent other Welsh-born individuals from opting to play for other nations.
Walker highlighted the importance of improving educational opportunities within Wales to retain local talent and ensure they are committed to representing their home country.
