Springboks star Cheslin Kolbe displayed his talent on both offense and defense while playing in Japan. After returning from an injury that sidelined him for over a month, Kolbe wasted no time making an impact. During the match between Tokyo Sungoliath and Yokohama Canon Eagles, Sungoliath was leading 28-10 but defending their line. Despite being on the back foot, Kolbe made a remarkable tackle on a Canon Eagles forward, then ran over 60 meters before setting up a try for his teammate. Kolbe's versatility was once again on display, showcasing his defensive prowess and playmaking abilities.
Although Sungoliath had a strong start, Canon Eagles fought back and secured a 37-35 victory. Kolbe's team suffered their third loss of the season, remaining second in their conference and third overall in the league standings.
