The schedule for the inaugural U20 Rugby Championship has been finalized, with all matches set to take place at Sunshine Coast Stadium in Australia. The competition will consist of three rounds where each team will face off against one another. The first round will feature a historic match between South Africa U20, known as the Junior Springboks, and New Zealand U20, also known as the Baby Blacks, on May 2. The tournament was introduced by SANZAAR to address the Northern Hemisphere's dominance in the U20 World Championship.
Head coach Bafana Nhleko sees the tournament as crucial for his team's development, providing valuable preparation for the global U20 showcase. SANZAAR CEO Brendan Morris believes the championship will create a clear pathway for young players to transition into senior and international rugby. The tournament schedule is as follows:
